Welcome UW and WLU Students
Dear UW and WLU students:
As the new academic year begins I invite you on behalf of the members of Grace Lutheran Church to join us for worship. Grace is a congregation of Lutheran Church-Canada, a synod of some 320 conservative Lutheran churches across Canada. We are a Protestant church which takes God’s Word seriously and accepts all of the Holy Bible as fully authoritative for faith and life.
Grace Lutheran Church, Kitchener, is located at 136 Margaret Avenue on bus route #8 about a 15 minute ride from UW and about 10 minutes from WLU. (For bus directions see below.) If you would like to worship at Grace but need a ride simply email me at email@example.com in advance of Sunday morning and we’ll seek to arrange a ride for you.
Sundays begin with Bible study at 9:30 a.m. Worship begins at 10:45 a.m. At Grace we worship accompanied by the organ and often by choir and stringed-instruments as we have many gifted musicians at Grace. Our worship is traditional and liturgical with high-quality, sacred music.
If you are a musician who would like playing time we have an accomplished organist and choir director (both UW grads) who would love to include you.
A highlight of each week is our Thursday night supper which involves a free meal and time for fellowship with our choir and other family members present. Come and join us Thursday nights at 6 p.m. for free food and a time to socialize. You don’t have to sing in the choir to get a free meal! Enter the church through the parking lot door behind the church off Louisa Street. The Thursday night suppers start on September 10th.
As a UW grad I know how hectic university life is and I invite you to take a time of spiritual rest with us here at Grace. May the Lord Jesus bless you richly this year.
P.S. On Sunday, August 30th and September 6th, 2015, worship begins at 9:30 a.m.
Bus directions: Take the #8 bus. Before WLU it is called “University via Westmount” and at the intersection of University and King the bus name changes to “Fairview Mall via Weber.” Get off the bus on Margaret Avenue at Wellington Street, then walk back one block down Margaret to the corner of Margaret and Louisa. The church is opposite the Margaret Avenue Public School.
