Welcome University and College Students!

To all the new and returning UW, WLU and Congestoga College students,

Welcome to Kitchener-Waterloo if this is your first year in the area.  You will find K-W to be a middle-sized Canadian city that has good traffic, is safe, and has lots of interesting places to eat.  (I’ll put a few of my favourite places to eat below.)  To the returning students: welcome back and I hope you have a successful and fun academic year.

If you are looking for fellowship among like-minded Christian students who believe the entire Holy Bible is the inerrant and inspired Word of God, and you desire to worship in a pro-life, pro-family and pro-creation congregation please consider worshipping with us.  The congregation is small in size, about 60-70 on a Sunday, with half the congregation 21 and under and a good number of those college or university-aged students so you’ll make some new friends quickly.  The Divine Service starts at 10:45AM each Sunday.  As a Lutheran congregation (Lutherans are the original Protestants) we value liturgical worship and are blessed with beautiful organ music and often have a choir or instrumental (usually strings) accompaniment.

We have a high school/young adult Bible study each Sunday at 9:30AM and we also have a potluck each Thursday evening (starting Sept 12th) at 6PM until the end of May.  Please join us even if you don’t have any food to contribute: there is always enough food!

Grace is located at 136 Margaret Avenue in Kitchener at the corner of Margaret Avenue and Louisa Street.  Our parking lot is off of Louisa Street.  We are on bus route 4, so using transit from UW or Conestoga College Doon Campus the fastest way here would probably be to take the light rail train to Grand River Hospital and then transfer to bus route 4 going north.  From WLU take bus 7 and then transfer at Grand River Hospital to bus route 4 going north.

May God bless your time in Kitchener-Waterloo and your studies!

Sincerely,

Pastor Korsch

P.S. As promised, my favourite place to eat in K-W is the Mei King Chinese restaurant on Margaret Avenue in Kitchener.  The food is always good and is reasonably priced.  If you have a sweet tooth try the Nova Era Bakery in King Street East in Kitchener.  They have a wide assortment of pasteries and fresh bread and it’s a quiet place to sit and study or have a coffee with your friends.
