Young Adult Survey Results

Dear Young Adults and Friends of Grace:

The Young Adult survey results are in!

Thanks to the nine individuals who filled out the survey, your input is greatly appreciated. Here is a basic breakdown of the results. Of those who answered 44% were age 16-17, 33% were aged 18-20, and 22% were aged 21-23. Two-thirds of the respondents were members of Grace and the other third visitors. Of the nine activities suggested, when rated by importance the ratings were very scattered, almost evenly. Of the activities suggested, the activities which received the best ratings: Bible studies was first, followed by Christian lectures, and then evening worship services followed by fellowship and fellowship meals were tied for third. When asked to choose the one activity that interests you most 44% chose apologetics training followed by 33% who chose Bible studies. 55% of respondents favoured casual drop-in activities while 44% favoured scheduled activities. For scheduled activities a clear choice was once a month. As for what time of year to have activities, 44% chose all year and 33% chose during the school year. The preferred time of week during the school year to meet was very evenly scattered with 22% each choosing a different week night later in the week or weekend afternoons or Sunday evening, with the highest choice being 33% on Saturday night. From May-August, Saturday afternoon/evening and Sunday afternoon all received 33% choice with no other time slot receiving higher than 25% of responses.

So what’s next?

From the responses the preference looks to be to meet once a month, on a casual drop-in basis, on a Saturday evening. Bible studies, apologetics training, Christian lectures and Vespers followed by food and fellowship are all desired activities.  So our next step is to choose a Saturday evening each month to meet.  At our first meeting we could have a Vespers service and enjoy some food and fellowship together afterwards at that time choose which of these four activities we’d like to choose to try first going forward.

In Christ,

Pastor Korsch
